Publications and Presentations

  • Co-Presented a training session for potential accreditation visit site reviewers at the Annual Conference of the International Assembly of Collegiate Business Education (IACBE) held on Friday, April 20, 2012 in Kansas City, Mo. (2) Invited to serve as a return Faculty member at the Annual IACBE University Training Institute for New Business School Deans, Associate Deans, and Chairs in June 2012. Presented conference sessions over three consecutive days (a) Leadership and Administration in Higher Education, (b) Fund Raising Responsibilities for Business Deans and Chairs – including the Effective Operation of an Endowed Chair Program (co-presented this session with a business dean from another university), and (c) Accreditation Visit Site Reviewer Training (presented an all-day workshop with the Dr. Margareta Knopik, Senior Vice President of IACBE Operations).
  • Presented a conference paper at the Annual Conference of the International Assembly of Collegiate Business Education (IACBE) on Wednesday, March 30, 2011 in Las Vegas, Nevada. The presentation was entitled, How to Create a Written Strategic Marketing Plan to Achieve Student Recruitment and Enrollment Goals While Enhancing Program Vibrancy: Should You Extract the Right Dose of Marketing Magic from the Genie’s Bottle or Develop a Strategic Marketing Plan that Best Positions Your School of Business in a Challenging Macro-Environment?
  • Invited to serve as a Faculty member at the first Annual IACBE University Training Institute for New Business School Deans, Associate Deans, and Chairs in June 2011. Presented a program on Creating a Dynamic Co-Curricular Program in a Business School.
  • Served as the plenary speaker at the Pennsylvania Highlands Community College’s Fall Faculty and Staff Development Workshop held on Friday afternoon, August 20. Provided a program on developing and implementing a customer service program on a college campus.

I have used this textbook in four courses and had produced an earlier text in 1998 for the same course. The customized textbook enables me to focus students on the material that I want them to master.
  • Completed a Book Review for two chapters of Marketing: Principles and Perspectives. 3/e, by Bill Bearden, Tom Ingram, and Buddy LaForge and published by McGraw-Hill, April 2002.
  • Made a conference presentation, Business Accreditation: Pros and Cons at the Annual Pennsylvania of Graduate Schools (PAGS) Conference in Scranton, Pa, on May 22, 2001. Dr. William Duryea, President of PAGs and Director of the Master of Medical Science Program, was instrumental in making this professional development opportunity available to me.
  • Presented an academic paper on academic program evaluation, entitled "Academic Program Reviews: How Do They lead to Continuous Improvement in Collegiate Business Schools" at a plenary session of the 1st Annual Conference of the International Assembly of Collegiate Business Education (IACBE) in Atlanta, Georgia, on April 10, 1999 to 70 business school deans, chairpersons, and faculty.
  • Dissertation: How Do Academic Program Reviews Lead to Continuous Improvement in the Business School? (Completed April 6, 1997).
  • Presented an academic paper, entitled "How to Conduct Serious Curriculum Reform in the Business School," at the Society for Advancement of Management's 1996 International Conference in Corpus Christi, Texas, March 14-16. The paper was published as part of the Conference's official proceedings.

  • Made a Conference presentation entitled, "Marketing Head Start Programs in the 21st Century" in Charleston, West Virginia in August 2000 (over 100 attendees at the Charleston Convention Center). Made a similar presentation in Philadelphia in March 2001 (25 attendees).
  • Nine Work Force Trends for the Nineties, 1989, was my thesis for the Master of Arts Degree in Human Resource Management. In retrospect, all nine trends manifested themselves throughout the 1990s as predicted.
  • Consulted dozens of times by the print and television media for expert opinions on a large variety of business and economics related topics such as consumer demographics, labor trends, human resource management topics, regional economic activities, macroeconomic forces, and educational trends.
