Dr. Randy L. Frye is the Owner, Operator, and Lead Consultant of Frye Consulting Solutions. He is also the Founding Dean of the Shields School of Business and Professor of Business Administration at Saint Francis University — a position he has held since the school’s founding in 2008.
Dr. Frye earned a B.A. in Social Sciences from the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown. He holds an MBA from Indiana University of Pennsylvania, a Master of Arts in Human Resource Management and Industrial Relations from Saint Francis University, and an Ed.D. in Administrative and Policy Studies from the University of Pittsburgh. His doctoral dissertation — “Academic Program Reviews: How Do They Contribute to Continuous Improvement in Business Schools?” — remains directly relevant to his consulting practice today.
He also holds the Certified Management Accountant (CMA) designation from the Institute of Management Accountants, reflecting deep expertise in financial management and business strategy.
Prior to his higher education career, Dr. Frye accumulated nine years of retail management and financial services experience, including as a finance manager for Household Finance Corporation (now part of HSBC) and as manager of a family small business operating service stations, a towing service, auto parts stores, and a restaurant.
